Get involved

Many hands make light work. The committee has plenty of good ideas, but not enough helpers to make them happen, so we've set up five small working groups. Each one has a clear remit and a small time commitment, and nobody is ever on their own. You don't need to be a cricketer to help.

  • Spread the load, so the club isn't reliant on two or three people
  • Small groups share the work: nobody carries a job alone
  • Bring your own skills (design, marketing, coaching, events) into the club
  • Clear remits and small time commitments

The working groups

Social Media and Advertising

Keep the club visible: match results, photos and sponsor shout-outs.

Time: 30 to 60 minutes a week, no formal meetings

  • Post the weekly results and team sheets (the website makes the graphics for you)
  • Share photos from match days and socials
  • Thank our sponsors

You'll need: Basic design flair and a smartphone

  • Reach out to local employers, schools and the University of Chester
  • Find lapsed local cricketers
  • Welcome newcomers at nets and on match days

You'll need: Enthusiasm and a few contacts

  • Run a 100 Club or raffles
  • Publish the social calendar early

You'll need: Organising skills and a sociable streak

Junior Co-ordination

The central point of contact for junior cricket.

Time: A few hours a month

  • Keep parents informed
  • Run the coach and helper rota
  • Sort match-day logistics for the Under 13s and Under 15s

You'll need: Co-ordination more than running drills
