Malpas suffered their second heaviest defeat of the season, going down by 122 runs at Chester County Offices (CCO). CCO needing at least a win to have a chance of staying up batted first on winning the toss. Despite losing opener Downham off the second ball of the innings, CCO steadily built their innings largely thanks to skipper Wright with 44 and an explosive 79 not out by Dodd off only 61 balls. CCO finished on a respectable total of 219-6. The Malpas top-order all made starts before being dismissed. At 74-3 the game looked well poised. Then a dramatic collapse instigated by Warrington (6-36) and Clarke (2-25) saw Malpas lose 7 wickets for 23 runs in the space of 5.5 overs!
